Svenska Folkdansens Vänner
Svenska Folkdansens Vänner – SFV – är en ideell kulturförening i Stockholm vars mål är att bevara och sprida den svenska folkliga kulturen inom dans, musik, sång och dräktskick.
Artur Hazelius, Skansens välkände grundare, bildade föreningen 1893 tillsammans med några entusiastiska vänner. SFV har därigenom kommit att bli en av Sveriges äldsta folkdansföreningar . Föreningen har idag cirka 300 medlemmar och hedras av kung Carl XVI Gustaf och drottning Silvia som sina första hedersledamöter.
För mer än tio år sedan behövde föreningen en ny webbplats och jag fick uppdraget. Webbplatsen består av två delar, en publik del och en lösenordsskyddad del för medlemmarna.
På den publika delen finns information om föreningen och dess aktiviteter, aktuellt terminsprogram samt kontaktinformation. Huvudsyftet är att berätta om föreningen och attrahera nya medlemmar. Det finns även möjlighet att beställa böcker och CD-skivor via e-post.
På medlemsdelen finns ett kalendarium, medlemsregister och e-postlista, information om aktuella arrangemang, ett stort bildgalleri, föreningens medlemsblad sedan 2005 i PDF-format och ett antal olika dokument av intresse för medlemmarna. Det finns också funktioner för administration av föreningens dansövningar, anmälan till aktuella aktiviteter samt medlemsbokningar av föreningens stuga.
Webbplatsen använder sig av ramar (frames) och är i huvudsak utvecklad med konventionell HTTP-kodning med tillägg av PHP och MySQL. Den har under årens lopp vuxit och nya delar har tillkommit men grundstrukturen bibehållits.

Svenska Folkdansens Vänner
Svenska Folkdansens Vänner – SFV – (Swedish Folkdance Friends) is a non-profit society with the aim to maintain and spread the Swedish folk culture in the fields of folk dance, music, singing and traditional costumes.
Artur Hazelius, the well-known founder of Skansen’s open air museum in Stockholm, was one of the founding fathers of the society in 1893 together with some enthusiastic friends. Thus, SFV has become one of the oldest folk dance societies in Sweden. Today the society has about 400 members and is honored by having King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia as their first members of honor.
About ten years ago the society needed a new web site and I got the task. The site consists of two parts, one public part and one password protected part for the members.
In the public part there is information about the society and its activities, current calendar and contact information. The main purpose is to tell about the society and to attract new members. There are also the options to order books and CD records via e-mail.
In the member part there is the current internal calendar, member registry and e-mail list, information about current activities, a large picture gallery, the society’s member magazine since 2005 in PDF format plus a number of other documents of interest to the members. There are also functions for adminstration of the dance exercises, to enroll to current activities and to book the cottage.
The site is built using frames and is mainly developed using conventional HTTP coding with additional PHP and MySQL. During the years it has grown and new sections have been added, but the basic structure remains.
